VIP culture

Published September 23, 2014

THIS is apropos your editorial ‘VIP culture’ (Sept 17). It is a wake-up call to lawmakers to mend their habits and get used to changed environments.

It is not the first time that a PIA plane was delayed to accommodate VIPs. It is a routine, but the sit-ins changed it.

A plane is only brought to the boarding area when it is technically fit to take off. Once passengers are asked to board, it means the plane is free of technical fault.

If it develops a technical fault after passengers have been boarded, they should be moved to the departure lounge. The suspension of two junior officers by the adviser on aviation is an eyewash as they cannot dare delay a flight even by a few minutes unless ordered.
