GWADAR: A security man of the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) was killed and two others were injured when the vehicle they were travelling in was hit by a bomb blast in Turbat on Saturday.

Sources said unidentified men planted an improvised explosive device (IED) on roadside in Beeri Dasht area of Turbat in Kech district and detonated it when a convoy of the FWO reached there.

Three security personnel were injured. One of them died while being taken to the Turbat hospital.

“An IED was used in the blast,” Turbat Assistant Commissioner Abdullah Khosa said. The deceased was identified as Sarfaraz. The injured were shifted to Quetta for treatment.

The FWO is constructing M-8, linking Gwadar to Ratodero.

Security personnel were combing the area for those behind the attack.
