TAXILA: A speeding dumper hit a motorcycle on Taxila-Hattar Road near Heavy Mechanical Complex on Saturday, killing two of the four family members travelling on the vehicle.

Police sources said Asim Khan was travelling with his wife, Saima Bibi, and their two children when a dumper collided with their motorcycle.

The dumper driver was trying to overtake a truck.

Saima Bibi and her daughter Aroosa died on the spot, while Asim and his son were critically injured.

The bodies of the deceased were shifted to THQ hospital while the injured were taken to Christian Hospital from where they were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital, Rawalpindi as their condition was critical.

The dumper driver managed to escape. The police have registered a case against the driver and impounded the vehicle.
