KARACHI: The Karachi Tennis Association will organise the first Abdul Majeed Trophy Ranking Tennis Championship here at the Union Club from Sept 27.

Late Abdul Majeed was a great tennis lover and supporter and his son Ismail Majeed represented Pakistan in Davis Cup and many other international events including the juniors event at Wimbledon.

The categories to be contested in the event include men’s singles, ladies’ singles, juniors’ under-17 singles, U-15 singles, U-13 singles, U-11 singles and U-9 singles besides the 35-plus singles.

The last date of registration for the event is Sept 26. Khawaja Saeed Hai is the president of the organising committee while Khalid Rehmani is the tournament director and referee. Nouman Sarwar is the organising secretary.
