LHC accepts contempt of court petition against Rana Mashood, IG Punjab

Separately, the Lahore High Court on Monday accepted a contempt of court petition against Punjab Inspector General (IG) of Police Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera and Law Minister Rana Mashood.

The PTI had filed the petition against Mashood and IG Punjab, saying that the Punjab police was arresting PTI workers at the behest of the government, despite an order issued by a LHC full bench which restrained the government from making illegal arrests.

The application will be taken up for hearing on September 18 by Justice Iftikhar Hussain Shah whereas notices were issued to Mashood and IG Punjab.
