PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Wednesday ordered promotion of 63 judicial officers, including 35 additional district and sessions judges and 14 senior civil judges and civil judges each.

Three separate notifications issued by PHC Registrar Mohammad Arshad stated that the chief justice and judges of the high court were pleased to order promotions in exercise of the powers conferred by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Services Rules, 2001 and on the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion/Administration Committee vide its meetings, which took place on July 25 and Sept 8.

The additional district and sessions judges (BPS-20) promoted to the post of district and sessions judges (BPS-20) include Tariq Pervez Baloch, Mohammad Jamal Khan, Babar Ali Khan, Abdul Ghafoor Qureshi, Mohammad Younas Khan, Mohammad Tariq, Mohammad Sabir, Syed Ahtisham Ali, Mohammad Asif Khan, Rajab Ali Khan, Mohammad Iqbal Khan, Nasrullah Khan Gandapur, Ikhtiar Khan, Naveed Ahmad Khan, Madad Khan, Ahmad Sultan Tareen, Gohar Rehman, Mohammad Hussain, Mahmoodul Hassan, Mohammad Zubair Khan, Sajjad Ahmad, Muzzamil Shah Khattak, Liaqat Ali Marwat, Rafiullah, Salahuddin, Mohammad Amin, Jamaluddin, Mohammad Asif, Naseem Akbar, Syed Zamrud Shah, Mohammad Zeb Khan, Shoaib Khan, Sofia Waqar Khattak, Mohammad Zafar and Mohammad Rauf.

The promotion of the last three judges will be with effect from the date of availability of vacancies, whereas the rest totaling 32 have been promoted with effect from July 25.

The notification also said the promotions would be subject to certain appeals of some judges pending decision by the Supreme Court.

The senior civil judges (BPS-19) promoted to the post of additional district and sessions judges (BPS-20) are Zainab Rehman, Hajira Rehman, Ziaur Rehman, Usman Wali, Abdul Jabbar, Hina Khan, Irshad Ahmad Khan, Ijaz Rashid, Asif Rashid, Ghulam Abbas, Sumbal Naseer, Shah Waliullah Hamid Hashmi, Usman Bashir Khan and Faryal Zia Mufti.

Similarly, the promoted civil judges to the post of senior civil judges include Ali Gohar, Rashid Rauf, Shaukat Ahmad Khan, Sumera Wali, Ahmad Iftikhar, Dost Mohammad Khan, Tanveer Iqbal, Asad Ali, Farzina Shaid, Aurangzeb Khan, Ishfaq Ali Haider, Ihteshamul Haq Danishmand Khan, Zeba Rasheed and Alia Sadia Lodhi.
