KOHAT: Police arrested a man after they recovered from him five pistols which were smuggled from Darra Adamkhel and being supplied to local arms dealers here on Tuesday.

The police rider force stopped a suspicious man in main bazaar, Kohat, and on checking recovered one 9mm pistol and four 30-bore pistols from him. They said that the alleged carrier, identified as Mohammad Hussain resident of Bostikhel Darra Adamkhel, had crossed the three military checkposts in Darra Adamkhel before reaching Kohat.

The pistols were being supplied to certain arms dealer in Bannu bazaar. The police, however, did not disclose name of the dealer. The businessmen of both Kohat and Darra Adamkhel are doing a roaring arms business, as factories continue to churn up arms such as Kalashnikovs and pistols.

The city police registered a case against the accused and have launched investigations.

DEATH MYSTERY SOLVED: The mystery shrouding the death of a girl whose body was found in a jungle in Bilitang has been solved as according to police her father had killed her for ‘honour’.

Police said that her father, Mamoor Khan of Meri Colony, told them that he was suspicious about the relationship of her daughter with a man in the village so he killed her and threw the body in a well in nearby jungle.

The girl’s body was exhumed and later buried in her ancestral graveyard. According to police, Mamoor Khan had confessed to the killing of her daughter after his arrest.
