KARACHI: Woman injured

KARACHI, Aug 29: A man critically injured his wife in a domestic dispute in Korangi on Friday.

Police said that Mohammad Kamal attacked his wife Zaiba Naz with a kitchen knife and allegedly tried to slit her throat during a domestic dispute.

The police said that Kamal escaped from the house leaving his wife in a pool of blood.

The police said that neighbours rushed the injured to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where she was admitted for treatment and was in a serious condition according to the hospital sources.

The police claimed to have arrested Kamal, the couple got married about a month ago.

In another incident, a young girl attempted suicide by shooting herself in the chest in her house in North Karachi on Friday.

Police said that Saeeda, 20, shot herself in the chest with her father’s pistol following a domestic dispute.

The police said that the girl was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where she was admitted in a critical condition.
