Hashmi’s revelations

Published September 3, 2014

JAVED Hashmi’s revelations about the military backing Imran have strengthened my doubts about how a new entrant in politics could plan the removal of an elected government with a simple sit-in. To me this is impossible without the backing and support of the power brokers.

Pakistan is a country where we cannot sit safely in front of our house without an armed guard. How could Imran Khan and a Canadian citizen sit in front of the nerve centre of the country with the certainty that with the support of a few thousand unarmed men women and children they would topple the government?

This question begs attention.
