KARAK: Lady health workers on Monday set a one week deadline to the government to regularise their services or they would take to the streets.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, the district president of the leady workers’ association Kulsoom Sultana, vice president Zakia Menhas, general secretary Iftikhar Bano and senior vice president Rukhsana Begum said that despite issuance of the notification by the central and provincial governments regularising their services, the provincial coordinator of leady health workers programme had not implemented the decision.

They said that Karak assistant commissioner Ataul Munam had also assured them that the district administration would take up the issue with the provincial government, but to no avail.

They accused the health staff of misbehaving with the female workers.

The lady health workers thanked the paramedics association, civil society and elders for supporting their cause. They resolved that they would continue their struggle till attainment of their rights.
