MINGORA: Adviser to the prime minister Engineer Ameer Muqam on Monday accused Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri of hatching conspiracy against democracy and warned the two leaders of being booked if anything unpleasant happened on August 14.

Talking to reporters after inaugurating functions to start the Independence Day celebrations at his residence at Sangota, Mr Muqam claimed that the PTI chief was dreaming to become the prime minister of the country. “No one can become premier on the basis of dreams, rather it entails a long political struggle,” he said. “Imran Khan should respect the mandate of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”

Mr Muqam believed that Imran Khan and PAT chief Tahirul Qadri had been in a bid to make the Independence Day controversial. “The long march is meant to destabilise the country. If anything untoward occurs on August 14 an FIR would be lodged against Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri for inciting people to violence,” he said.

Commenting on the reports that PTI chief was planning to ask party lawmakers to resign from parliament, Mr Muqam said that it was not matured politics. “If PTI members quit the provincial assembly seats the people of KP would celebrate such a decision,” he claimed. He said that by-elections would be held on the vacated seats.

To a question, the adviser to the prime minister said that people of KP had given the PTI the mandate in the last general elections to resolve their problems, but instead the party was trying to harm political harmony in the country.

DENGUE CASE: Another dengue case was detected on Monday at Saidu Hospital, taking the number of dengue patients to 54 in Mingora city this season.

According to the hospital sources, 45-year-old Gul Bashar, resident of Skha Cheena Mingora, tested positive for dengue fever. Sources added that all the patients had been discharged from the hospital after completion of treatment.
