Welcome to Chunda Valley - a small slice of heaven situated near Skardu in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Beyond its breathtaking landscape, this fertile land allows the local community to live completely self sustained. The valley is known for its seedless raisins.
Here is a small window into this remote mountain region.

OMG!IT'S amazing.Keeping in view the muggy weather of july and august and then this cool wave of breeze.I am so moved by the beauty of my country feeling proud. We are so blessed with natural beauty none other but still we complain and curse. We shall be thankful to ALLAH for blessing us with such a beautiful country that in summer where plains temperature is 45 the northern hills offer 5 to 10 celcuis and even in minus.

All parts of Pakistan, from the shores to the to the mountains are very beautiful. I wish all of us would learn to appreciate this beautiful country and start taking care of it.

I am surprised at the inaccuracies in the title of the photos. Most of the "views of Chunda valley" are actually views of Skardu valley. Dawn used to be a professional production.

@Azam I think we always had such a leadership. Musharraf, Zardari, Sharif, all of them are honest, brave and patriotic.

Amazing thank you for bring such beautiful photographs of Chunda Valley to the general public. Mashallah Our country is very beautiful we must thank God and should look after our beautiful motherland. One can realize the importance of motherland when you live abroad for a while. Believe me nothing is beautiful as compared to motherland. Someone has rightly said "East or West Home is the best".

Wow, what majestic, awe inspiring views!
The northern valleys if developed for tourism they would could be the biggest earner for the region!
We people just do not realise the potential our country has!

subhaan allah..... great pics....but for most of us westerners it is quite normal to see sites like that....the photographer needed to place some individuals which we can relate the depth and beauty of the valley (eg an animal vehicle or a person standing there)...the picture of the cave is lost without really seeing an identifiable object one can relate to the vastness of it.... also a picture of access road with mountainous back ground would have been great (to let you know that you can actually drive there).....I think the pictures are very appealing to trek goers and mountain climbers because without a decent hotel pic with mountains and all in the back ground I wouldn't dare to go with my family......but at the end great effort ...and al ham do lillaah for everything......
