SWABI: A man blew himself up in the Kunda village of Swabi district on Saturday.

Eyewitnesses said that Mohammad Yasin had strapped a hand grenade to his body. It went off, killing him on the spot.

District police officer Sajjad Khan said a case had been registered on a complaint of the victim’s brother.

He quoted Mr Saeed as saying that his brother was mentally upset and died when the grenade exploded in his hands.

Kunda is the native village of Khalid Haqqani, the deputy chief of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan.
