KARACHI, Dec 19: Thirty vehicles — 13 cars and 17 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city in the three days of Eid.

An official of the Anti-car Lifting Cell said most of the cases took place in districts East and Central.

Nine cars were taken away in district East and two others in district Central. Eight motorcycles were stolen in district Central and three others in district East.

Two cars and six motorcycles were taken away in district South.

The police said five cars were stolen in district East and two others in district Central on Monday. Three motorcycles each were stolen in districts South and Central and two others in district East.

On Tuesday, one car was stolen in district East. Four motorcycles were stolen in district Central and one each in districts East and South.

Five cars and three motorcycles were taken away on Wednesday. One car each was hijacked in districts South and East.

Two others were stolen in district East and one in district South. Two motorcycles were stolen in district South and one in district Central.

However, a spokesman for the Central Police Office in the figures for Wednesday stated that only six vehicles — three cars and an equal number of motorcycles — were taken away in the city.

The ACLC official claimed the recovery of eight stolen cars and four motorcycles in the city in three days of Eid.
