LAHORE: Bay colt Wind Chaser lived up to his name with a comfortable success in the feature event during the Lahore Summer Meeting at the Racecourse here on Sunday.

The odds-on favourite colt beat Sattiana Prince by one-and-a-quarter of lengths with bay mare Ballerina third, another two and a half lengths behind.

Trainer Tauqir Ahmed had a very successful weekend by saddling home three winners. He first sent out bay colt New Tear in the third race and then followed it up with back-to-back victories of Wind Chaser and chestnut filly Special Time saddling in the fifth and sixth races, respectively.

Tauqir’s all the three winners were partnered by veteran jockey Aamir Pervez, who showed a glimpse of his past riding profess.

Punters went home happily from the pre-Eid-ul-Fitr Lahore Summer Meeting when five favourite horses won in a card of six races with the only upset caused by 10-year-old bay horse Chal Samney, ridden by apprentice Sunny Babu, in the second race.

The favourite horses to win were Asfand Choice, New Tear, Royal Boy, Wind Chaser and Special Time.
