QUETTA: The Pakhtun-khwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), an ally of the government, has condemned the PML-N’s decision of summoning the Army for Islamabad’s security under Article 245 of the Constitution and called for the reversal of the decision.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the PkMAP said that calling in the Army not only suspended human rights but also prevented the high court and executive from exercising their powers.

An action taken by the Army can neither be challenged in a court nor can a court issue any interim order against an action that negates the democratic norms, it said.

Democratic and constitutional order has been restored in the country after a long struggle by democratic forces against the dictatorship. Therefore, it said, all decisions should be taken in the spirit of democracy and supremacy of parliament.
