QUETTA: Two policemen were gunned down on Sariab Road here on Friday.

Police said head constable Munir Ahmed and constable Naseebullah were going to Sariab Mills post office area to report for their duty on a motorcycle when they were intercepted by gunmen near a speed-breaker.

The attackers opened indiscriminate fire on the policemen in which Munir died on the spot. Naseebullah was shifted to the CMH in a precarious condition where he died.

A senior police officer told Dawn that the attackers were three in number and they escaped on motorcycles after the incident.
