KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Club lived up to their billing by lifting the inaugural RLCA Ramazan T20 Cricket Tournament trophy as they thrashed Pak Korangi CC by 79 runs in a one-sided final here at Gulberg Ground on Thursday night.

Batting duo of Nadeem Javed and Rameez Raja along with left-arm spinner Fawad Khan played pivotal role in their team’s victory.

Electing to bat first, Pakistan CC posted a healthy 201-4 in their stipulated 20 overs.

Nadeem slammed 76 off 40 balls with five boundaries and as many sixes while Rameez struck nine fours besides hoisting two sixes.

After Fazal Subhan went for 16 with total at 61 in the seventh over, Nadeem and Rameez shared a rapid 100 runs stand for the second wicket which helped their team cross 200 mark.

Pak Korangi CC in reply could manage 122-8 in their 20 overs. Talib Ali hit a defiant 50 off 38 deliveries with the aid of six boundaries. Ashraf Ali hit two fours in his 25-ball 27.

Fawad Khan caused the main damage in Pak Korangi CC batting, claiming four wickets for 21 in four overs.

However, the man-of-the-match award went to Nadeem for his excellent batting.

MNA and chairman of Pakistan Champions Cricket League Syed Asif Hasnain and KCCA president Prof. Ejaz Faruqi were guests of honour at the final.

Chief organiser and former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif, Pakistan Disable Cricket Association (PDCA) president Saleem Karim and other officials were also present on the occasion.

Winning captain Adnan Kaleem collected the trophy and a cash prize of Rs200,000 from Asif Hasnain while Atif Maqbool received the runners-up trophy and Rs100,000.

Special awards were given to Rameez Raja (best batsman), Abdul Qadir (best bowler) and Hanif Malik (best wicket-keeper).

Left-arm spinner Azam Hussain was named player of the tournament.
