Rs87bn fresh notes issued

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued fresh notes worth Rs87 billion to commercial banks for distribution to the general public up to July 22.

The SBP has been issuing fresh currency notes to facilitate general public during Ramzan through counters of field offices of SBP BSC and it would continue till the last working day of Ramazan, said a press release issued on Wednesday. Each individual can receive three packets of Rs10 and one packet each of Rs20, Rs50

and Rs100 of fresh notes against exchange value by presenting their original Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC/Smart card) at the counter.

Meanwhile, per person quota from 150 designated branches of commercial banks has also been increased to two packets each of Rs10 and Rs20 and one packet each of Rs50 and Rs100.—APP
