KARACHI: All the personnel, including officers and officials, of the traffic police will be provided with weapons.

This was decided at a police officials meeting presided over by acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali at the Central Police Office.

The participants in the meeting decided that police officers would be required to purchase weapons/pistols personally and carry them, while other policemen would be provided with arms from the police department.

A summary was being sent to the provincial government in this regard, said a handout issued here on Tuesday.
