CHARSADDA: Three members of a family were killed and a two-year-old girl was injured when assailants entered their house and opened indiscriminate fire on them here on Thursday.

According to police, the assailants entered the house of one Khyal Zarin at midday at Tube Well Korona at Turlandai in the jurisdiction of Nesata police station and opened fire on the inmates. As a

result, Mr Zarin, his wife Suhaila Begum and nephew Niaz Amin were killed while his two-year-old daughter was injured. The bodies were taken to the DHQ hospital, Charsadda, while the injured girl was referred to Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar, in critical condition.

The police registered the case and have started search for the attackers. Police said that Mr Zarin had shifted to Nesata from Khyber Agency after his marriage there.
