Arrest warrants issued for Mubashir Lucman, ARY chief

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday issued bailable arrest warrants for the chief executive officer of ARY TV channel and one of its anchorpersons, Mubashir Lucman on a plea seeking to bar the channel for airing a programme against the Judiciary.
A single member bench of IHC comprising Justice Shaukat Aiziz Siddiqui issued the directives on nonappearance of respondents Mubashir Lucman and Salman Iqbal despite the court orders.
Lucman, also accused of defaming and ridiculing people including judges of the higher judiciary during his talk show, was restricted to conduct any programs by the high court earlier this month.
During the course of the hearing, Acting Chairman Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) Pervez Rathor submitted a report before the court with regard to the programme aired against the Judiciary.
Syed Nayab Gerdezi, counsel for the district bar apprised the bench that the media should not conduct programmes against the Judiciary. He argued that no one from the respondents’ side appeared before the court which was a violation of court orders.
To this, Justice Siddiqui issued the bailable warrants of respondents and adjourned the case till August 1.

Lucman started his career as online sales man at a real estate TV channel based in Lahore. He then jumped to other channels to host political talk shows. Finally turned into a self acclaimed political pundit and blackmailer. Presently he represent the lowest mentality in Journalism. Can be easily purchased to push any agenda in electronic media.

Judiciary should be brought to justice. No body is above the law. It is no doubt that somebody is pulling the strings here. Musharraf was correct when he put limitations of then CJ. He has proven right again.

despicable and disgraceful this judiciary is a joke. zero conviction of rape suspects, zero convictions of tax defaulters and terrorists and all it has been doing is playing as a B team of Nawaz league and picking off everyone which the Sherif Family doesnt like

The judge of the case is famous for taking extreme positions, i still remember the same judge "ordering a bullet proof car for ex CJ otherwise he will forbid use of the bullet proof cars for all".

No single Institute is clean and working within limits.

@Hasnain Haque --- unfortunately Lucman Bashir is one so this is one on one basis --- the judge knows that the ARY BULLION--NNAIRES are behind Lucman Bashir and the judge has only the government and JUSTICE BEHIND HIM. Do you see the difference when things are one on one ------ hasnain haque

Pakistan Judicial System should look over their conduct and ethics, before prosecuting others. Their are bad actors in the system who are ruining the Judicial System. People are tired of not having justice and they are not scared of raising voice against them. Therefore they have to re-organize themselves and create confidence among the nation.

Mr. Lucman is no Sir. David Frost or Zainab Badavi. But sure is a honest reporter, who exposes the fraud and bungling by the politicians. I am not his fan but sure a admirer for his courage. In todays time in Pakistan bad politician can get him killed without any traces. He is a hard working reporter and should stay in investigative reporting business. To me he a crusader against bribery. The judiciary branch has not earned any respect and that is why they do not get any respect. Good luck Mubasshir sahib.

What moral justification this judiciary has. What wrong has this judiciary not committed? Supporting every martial law, taking oath on PCOs, releasing terrorists, nepotism, favoritism etc. The dilemma in our country is any one can get away with insulting ALLAH, Rasool SAWW, Quran or Sahaba but if you utter a word against the judiciary you are being anti-democratic, anti-islamic, anti-Pakistan and commit the biggest sin the history of mankind has ever witnessed more than the sins of Hitler or what was done in Sodom and Gommoroh.

Kangroo court, Mola Jutt style justice. Yesterday the lawyers from LHC helped escaped two killers after their bail pleas were denied. I think it is biggest crime when justice becomes injustice. People of Pakistan have no hope with Kangroo courts, Banana republic govt and slippery media.
