KARACHI, July 14: Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad has emphasised the need for cooperation of the people with the law enforcement agencies at every level in the province for the improvement of law and order situation.

He said this during a meeting with the inspector-general of police, Sindh, Syed Kamal Shah, and CPLC chief Sharfuddin Memon, in the Governor’s House on Monday.

They apprised the governor of the latest law and order situation in the province and briefed him on the on-going measures in this connection.

The governor directed them to further intensify these steps in order to control crimes in the interior of the province and for checking car thefts in the urban areas.

He also called for enhancing contacts between the police and the CPLC besides making the intelligence organizations more effective for curbing crimes.

The governor directed that the SHOs should remain in contact with notables of the areas and there should be mutual confidence between the police and the people.

He said it was the priority of the government to maintain law and order and ensure peaceful conditions and that this goal should be pursued without any fear or favour.—APP
