KARACHI July 11: The PTCL, taking serious cognizance of internet and telecom service failures on July 7, has suspended four senior officers, on the basis of preliminary inquiry report.

The divisional engineer and assistant divisional engineer posted at Satellite Station, Dehmandro, who were responsible for the maintenance of satellite antenna, have been suspended.

Similar action has been taken against the staff responsible for maintenance of SMW-III land cable route at Karachi. The PTCL also suspended the service of A E External Cable and Engineering Supervisor with immediate effect.

The PTCL initiated disciplinary actions against two of its directors including Director Satellite for negligence in maintenance of the Earth Station under his control.—PPI
