KHUZDAR: People of Khuzdar took out a procession on Sunday for restoration of peace in the district that has been facing the law and order problems for several years.

A large number of men, women and children took part in the procession which began from the municipal corporation building and marched on various roads. The participants carried banners and placards inscribed with slogans seeking restoration of peace in the area.

Addressing the procession at the offices of the deputy commissioner, where the procession ended, Babu Mohammad Yousuf Ghulamani, Haji Karim Bakhsh Jattak, Maulana Ahmed Pindrani, Abdul Sattar Langov, Taj Mohammad Pindrani, Mir Aurangzeb Zehri, Master Ghulam Rasool Ghulamani and Nooruddin Chanal said that Khuzdar used to be a peaceful town but it had been facing law and order problems for the past few years.

The speakers said they had not staged the rally against any political party or organisation because they had no political motives.

“We are peaceful citizens of Khuzdar and we just want restoration of peace in our city,” they said. However, they criticised elected representatives of the area and said they had not played their role for restoring peace in the area.
