PESHAWAR: At least one person was killed and five others were injured on Sunday in two remote-controlled blasts in Mohmand tribal region.

The deceased was a Khassadar force personnel.

Official sources say that the blasts occurred at in Chamarkand area of Safi Tehsil bordering Bajaur region.

According to tehsildar Miraj Khan, a bomb disposal squad team was on a scanning mission for road safety when it was targeted by an improvised explosive device (IED).

Rescue teams reached the site of the incident and shifted the injured to the hospitals in Bajaur region.


Six injured in blast on Levies vehicle


At least six levies personnel were injured in a remote-controlled blast on a Levies vehicle in Agency Headquarters Hospital in Khar.

Official sources said that the security forces’ vehicle was targeted near Rashkai area of Khar destroying the vehicle completely.

The military sources also confirmed that five security personnel were injured in the blast as they moved to Nawagai Pass.

Rescue teams immediately reached the site of the incident and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital some of whom were reported to be in critical condition.
