Entitled "dance away all differences", the performances at Karachi's Arts Council on May 3rd were absolutely stunning.
There were performances put together by Nighat Chaodhry, Munawar Chao, Farrukh Darbar, Wahab Shah, Adnan Jahangir, Cyril James, Balochi Dance Group, Sabiha Zia, Suhaee Abro.
The performances ranged from contemporary to classical to mystical and traditional. The night was a constant hit after hit with choreography and costuming set to dazzle the crowd with pastel colours and hypnotic moves. The crowd also enjoyed themselves as they whistled, danced and applauded the performances.
It was a night to remember for Karachi as the city had transformed itself into a city of endless shining.

glad to know that music and dance still are allowed to be performed in Pakistan. Hope this continues and gets more and more strength.

Lost people with lost values. What is the basis for promoting any activity like this.....Our intellect and choice above and beyond the rules given to us by the creator. How will we answer when we are held to ultimate accountability. This is not the end of the world, at the same time we need to wake up and ask ourselves what do we base our thoughts and actions on. How do we determine the right from the wrong. Yes there are many other ills in society and this will surely not make the top 10. But we have to ask the same question for each and every deviation, wrong action and plain dis belief whether as individuals or as a society.

As we contemplate how blessed our ultimate encounter with the Supreme Being would be, we also need to remember that the Supreme Being has put us on this earth to live a life of a human being. Art, including the dance, is an expression of living. A teacher lives, contemplates and helps us contemplate. A dancer, likewise, lives, contemplates and makes us reflect!

Please Syed, Our creator wants us to enjoy life. He is so great, he does not care if we praise him or not. So appreciate the gift of life he has given us. Enjoy life. Be good to yourself and others around you, and when you leave this world, hope you leave it a better place than when you came to it
