NOWSHERA: Jamatud Dawa chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed on Sunday met Difa-i-Pakistan Council chairman Maulana Samiul Haq at his residence in Akora Khattak here, and discussed with him talks process between the government and Taliban.

Sources quoted Samiul Haq as telling Mr Saeed that the government and Taliban were showing seriousness to take the peace talks forward instead of only focusing on extending ceasefires.

“I am in contact with both the parties and next round of talks is expected to take place within two or three days,” Mr Haqinformed Mr Saeed during the meeting, said the sources.

They said that Hafiz Saeed appreciated the role of JUI-S chief in bringing the two sides to the dialogue table.

He said that terrorist activities had come down in the country since the start of peace talks.

The sources said that both the leaders appealed to the nation to pray for thesuccess of the dialogue process.

The sources said both leaders called for harmony and trust among state institutions.

Maulana Sami and Hafiz Saeed appreciated the government decision to delay the grant of most favourable nation status to India.
