KARACHI: The second edition of the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) Sports Festival begins from Friday with the three-week extravaganza featuring several sporting events set to take place at various venues across the city.

Eight different teams and 800 employees from SSGC’s franchise areas of Sindh and Balochistan will take part in 21 games including cricket, tennis, golf, athletics, tug of war, bowling, checkers, chess, darts and snooker.

The venues for the event will be held in the Company’s Karachi Terminal facility, Arena entertainment centre, Go-Aish Adventure Park and the DHA Golf Club.

The Festival, which concludes on May 17, stresses on nurturing competitiveness and a chance to unwind and relax by engaging in sports. A torch relay for the festival will also be conducted.—Agencies
