ISLAMABAD: Two-day long Margalla Festival Family Fiesta concluded at Rawal Dam on Sunday. People from all walks of life participated in the festival and enjoyed wall climbing, music and other entertaining activities.

The festival was organised by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in collaboration with the Ibex Club.

The highlight of the show included a drumming performance by the talented musician Natasha who entertained the audience.

The most entertaining part of the festival was live performance by singer Mulazim Hussain, who rose to fame after becoming a finalist in the Indo-Pak singing competition ‘Sur Kshetra’, along with a wall-climbing activity being carried out by the youngsters in the background. The performance was aptly termed as ‘rock-star’ by the organisers.

One of the organisers of the festival, Najaf Naad-i-Ali, while talking to Dawn said a large number of families from Islamabad and Rawalpindi participated in the gala.

“The most important thing is that the rock start activity, which has been initiated at the club, will continue throughout the year.

“More than 300 sky lanterns were also released to express solidarity with the martyrs who died during war against terrorism,” he said.

A participant, Abdul Rasheed, told Dawn that events like this should be held frequently as the residents of the capital city get very few opportunities of family entertainment.

“I decided to participate along with my family because there were activities for children as well as the grownups,” he said.

Member Engineering, CDA, Sanaullah Aman, while addressing the participants of the festival, said the civic body would provide many more platforms for such activities in future.

“The CDA has a policy to support events in which large number of citizens can be accommodated and entertained,” he said.
