KAKUL: Addressing the passing out parade of the 129th Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Long Course on Saturday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said the nation was standing firm beside the armed forces, DawnNews reported.
The premier, who was the chief guest at the occasion, during his address said that the young soldiers of the country possessed high moral fibre, adding that their profession demanded high level of dedication.
The prime minister said that to make the country’s defence impregnable the government would extend every possible help to the armed forces.
He moreover said equipping the armed forces with modern technology was the government’s responsibility.
Prime Minister Sharif also advised the cadets to not refrain from rendering great sacrifices in service to the motherland.
The premier expressed hope that one day Pakistan would overcome every difficult phase.
In his address, the prime minister also congratulated the young cadets on successful completion of their military training.

Pakistan is not standing firmly but getting dragged badly behind it's armed forces. Army has done more blunders than sacrifises

This is the beginning of a new era in the Army when the new generation is entering after the Dictatorships and Military intrusions are history and Musharraf is soon going to be punished for high treason.
It is great to see that the history is being corrected in Pakistan!

Nations don't stand behind Armed forces
Armed Forces get salaries from tax payers and they stand behind the Nation.
Pakistan is the only Nation that is attached to an Army. .

The nation has & will always stand firm behind our armed forces. It is some intoxicated with excess amount of superiority complex & urge to take revenge fires undemocratic & un-parliamentary language salvos towards the most reliable & prestigious body of Pakistan.

@Raza khan: We are in a mess because the politicians have put us there. Constitutional legalities aside, every military era has brought more benefits and social uplift for the people, except perhaps Zia Ul Haq. In politicians only the politicians benefited, like in the last 6 years under the 2 most corrupt civilians politicians in the world. If the civilians show capability then there will never be any coups.

Does that mean the Armed Forces will get full support from our government to go and finish the job with the Talibans? What good will it do to equip our military with "modern technology" - when they are too afraid to use them? All our leaders (military and civilian) have done too much talking - maybe they can put their words into action and for a change, make their country proud!
