RAWALPINDI: A man killed two of his nephews and injured another critically, whom he had kidnapped from Abbottabad, by slitting their throats and dumped the bodies in an abandoned wooded area in Murree, police said on Monday.

The accused, identified as Nadeem, reportedly committed the crime on the advice of a fake pir (occultist) that he should sacrifice three children to get his desires fulfilled.

According to Assistant Superintendent Police (ASP) Murree, Tariq Ellahi, the victims were identified as Meher Ali, Qadir Ali and Zain Ali, who were reportedly between 7 to 14 years of age. Their bodies were found from woods in Murree, he informed.

Rescue 1122 shifted injured Zain Ali to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). The accused, however, managed to flee.

The authorities found the knife and an off roader vehicle from the crime scene. They told the media that the suspect has a booked flight to Saudi Arabia for Monday.

The officials said that all airports in the country are alerted about the suspect’s plan.

The incident took place a day after a man, looking for ‘hidden treasure’ again on the advice of an occultist, was buried alive in a deep well he had dug in his house in Multan.
