ISLAMABAD: In view of security threats to former military ruler Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s Chak Shehzad farmhouse, a bomb-proof security wall is being constructed, DawnNews reported.
Earlier today, heavy machinery and bomb-proof concrete blocks were transported to the former president’s farmhouse.
The construction work is expected to be completed by evening.
Musharraf had been receiving several threats to his life since his return to Pakistan and explosives have been recovered from around his farmhouse residence on a number of occasions.
Last year, in April 2013, 45 kilograms of explosives had been discovered in a car abandoned near his farmhouse when he was being taken back there after his appearance in an anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi.
Meanwhile, police had discovered five kilograms of explosive materials, weapons and ammunition close to the route that former dictator was due to take from his house to the court on Dec 24 whereas on Dec 30, the police had recovered four packets of explosive materials near Musharraf’s farmhouse.
As recently as March 10, the Islamabad police chief, the chief commissioner and the Interior Ministry had warned that terrorists affiliated with the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan and Al Qaeda had planned to target the retired General based on a letter sent to Home Secretary Punjab.
Consequently, the ministry advised extreme vigilance and fool-proof security measures be taken to avoid any untoward incident.

His enemies are his own Government with prime minister and his cabinet ministers along with Black coats who want to humiliate him and the country.
Sharif and his mafia never got along with any body and they will go again where they have been before to hell and take country with it.

a good dicision by the army. As far as public money is concerned, if it is not spent on Musharaf's safety, it will be spent by Nawaz family's extravagance, so its better this way.

Mr Musharraf protected our country for more than 4 decades and now its our time to provide protection for him, he is certainly an honest and a sincere person, moreover educated enough to represent Pakistan with dignity on a global level. The letters received by the Home Minister is a clear evidence that General Musharraf was fighting against the terrorist, or else why the Taliban's are against him. Mr Musharraf did not accumulate any wealth for himself, and his records are clear. We are in desperate need of an honest leader, please support him for the sake of our own country.

Look folks, everyone has a fundamental right to protect his/her life. Whether you are retired General or brick maker. We already knew that our political, religious leaders are corrupt and spit venom on others, so why did we voted them in at first place. It's time to concur that we need to wake from our 67 years of complacency and stop acting in condescending manner towards others.

Who is paying for this Bomb Proof Wall ??? Its GHQ again. This Institution needs complete Over Haul, they are the most corrupt and need to be answerable to the people of Pakistan.
Again Pakistan Nation is frustrated because of their rebellious attitudes towards all the Elected Governments in the past. This Institution is trying to safe One General as they know that this the beginning of their accountability. They have proven themselves to be STATE WITHIN STATE, Land Grabbers, not accountable to the Law of Pakistan and to be honest their Loyalties have never been for Pakistan but for $$$$.

A commando is different from a suicide bomber or an empty head terrorist, if you know what I mean. A commando never throws away his life. He, however, is never afraid of sacrificing his live for a greater purpose like saving the integrity of country or completing his mission. It is difficult to understand in this taliban culture.

We should keep one thing in mind before we call him a commando, and then call him coward. Because by saying this, you are disgracing yourself. You are using the language of your enemy. You may not like your brother sometimes, but if you call him bastard you disgrace yourself. Everybody knows that a soldier who is a commando in our army is the best of the best. You want him to go in front of those judges who have already written the judgement. He is one of the best soldiers of our army, and the army knows how to protect their heroes from the evil designs of enemies. Those who call him a cowardly commando are playing in hands of enemies.

I am not comparing him to a suicide bomber - however, with all the security he requires just on a day to day basis, how will he be able to govern or even stay in contact with the people? He is so afraid for his life, that he is getting bomb-proof walls installed! You can't claim to be a soldier, not afraid of death and then, behave the way he is behaving - it just doesn't make sense.
