MUZAFFARGARH: Khanewal city police registered on Thursday a case 153/14 under sections 302, 363 and 202 of the PPC against the principal and teacher of an academy who allegedly raped and killed a Class-V student some days back.

Khanewal city SHO Sadiq Rind along with Muzaffargarh police raided Shah Jamal locality on Tuesday and arrested teacher Muhammad Ishaq. Later on his indication, police recovered the body of 11-year-old boy from a field.

The SHO said the boy was a Class-V student at Missali School of Khanewal in Qaimwala. The institute is affiliated with the Punjab Education Foundation. On Saturday after school time, teacher Ishaq and principal Kashif Imran telephoned the parents and asked them to send the boy to school for tuition, he said.

Rind quoted the parents as saying that the victim did not reach home till night and they contacted the school. The principal was present at the school and he showed his ignorance about the boy.

The victim’s parents contacted police who picked the principal for interrogation on Monday and asked him about teacher Ishaq and the boy.

The SHO said police arrested Ishaq who confessed to killing the boy and burying him in Shah Jamal, Muzaffargarh.

Rind said Ishaq told the police that he put acid on boy’s face and disfigured him and later buried him in a field.

The SHO said Kashif belonged to Muzaffargarh and he had set up an academy in Khanewal and was involved in activities of a banned outfit.

He said the suspects had allegedly raped many schoolchildren.

Complainant Mohammad Arshad, who is father of the victim, has appealed to the chief minister and the chief justice of Pakistan for justice.

With the horrific news and recovery of the body from Muzaffargarh, several parents have withdrawn their children from boarding institutes of the district where more than a dozen private academies are working.

Most of the academies do not allow children weekly off or visit to their homes. Only three holidays in a month are allowed when the students go to their homes to bring fees. The private academies don’t allow three-month summer vacation and they hold night classes as well.
