KARACHI: Unity Gymkhana scored a convincing 66-run victory over Taj Sports in the latest round of matches in the KCCA Zone-VI Daud Khan Memorial Cricket Tournament here on Tuesday.

Batting first, Unity Gymkhana piled up 288-9 in their allotted 40 overs. Maisam Jafri top-scored with 58 that included seven fours, while Masoom Ali struck nine boundaries in making an unbeaten 52.

Off-spinner Fawad Khan claimed four wickets for 39 runs.

Taj Sports, in their reply, were all out for 222 in 29.4 overs with Affan Naqvi (65 with 12 fours), Hamza Sheikh (54, 10 boundaries) and Fawad Khan (54, six fours and two sixes) being the leading run-getters.

In another fixture played at the RLCA Ground (UP), Orangi United CC defeated Hyderi Sports by six wickets.

Despite Fazal Rehman hitting 74 (eight fours and three sixes), Hyderi Sports were dismissed for 176 in 29.5 overs.

Orangi United CC achieved victory by reaching 180-4 in the 24th over. Ghufran Siddiqui slammed 58 with the aid of eight boundaries.
