CHAKWAL: Three persons were shot dead while four others were injured in two separate incidents, police said on Sunday.

The first incident occurred in Patwali village located in the jurisdiction of Taman police station in Talagang tehsil where a man gunned down his brother-in-law.

According to police sources the sister of Mohammad Zubair was married with Umar Hayat who divorced her a few months ago. After the divorce a dispute over dowry arose and a case was filed in a local court.

On Saturday after returning from the court Mohammad Zubair opened fire at Umar Hayat killing him on the spot.

The second incident occurred in Dhoke Malkan village located in the jurisdiction of Dohman police station where two persons were shot dead while four others were injured over a land dispute. Mohammad Arif and his kins had a land dispute with Faisal Iqbal, Qaisar Abbas and others.

On Friday evening Mohammad Arif along with seven other men attacked his rivals, killing Faisal and Qaisar on the spot and injuring four others. Police have started efforts to trace the accused who managed to escape from the scene.
