I DO not agree with the prosecutor that Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf alone is responsible for declaring Nov 3 emergency. Since he had consulted all who were at the helm of affairs and taken their consent, agreeing to the unlawful act and not resigning from their posts, it is abetting in all its forms.

That is what we were taught in service. If a commander knows that no one will disagree because of the concept of saying ‘no’ to the superior then he will incite mutiny in the armed forces anytime. We were always taught not to follow an ‘unlawful command in peace or in war’.

Not only the service personnel but even the politicians serving after the order and bureaucracy must share the responsibility. For all this, Gen (r) Ashfaq Parvez Kayani should be held responsible in the first place.
