OKARA: Setting an example of religious harmony, hundreds of Christian and Muslim residents of 3/4L village on Tuesday took out a joint procession against desecration of a church site by some miscreants.

The incident occurred a week ago in which some armed men had damaged the church site and demolished its foundation stone in 3/4L village.

The procession, comprising members of both communities residing in the village, was also joined by Anjuman-i-Mazareen activists.

The protesters walked up to the press club, demanding arrest of the miscreants who desecrated the church site.

Nadeem Abbas, Younas Masih, David Zahid, Aslam Sahotra, Talib Lumberdar and others led the procession.

They announced a sit-in would be staged on March 14 in front of the Lahore Press Club if the suspects nominated in the FIR were not arrested.
