GWADAR: Ten people were injured in a grenade attack on a bakery in Jiwani town on Saturday, police said.

Unidentified people on a bike hurled a hand-grenade into the bakery which exploded with a loud bang creating panic in the area.

“Ten people, mostly customers, have been injured in the blast,” police said, adding that attackers fled after the incident. Two of the victims were reported to be in serious condition.

The injured were taken to hospitals in Jiwani and Gwadar.The bakery and nearby shops were damaged by the impact of the blast.

Some of the injured were identified as Wajul, Elahi Bakhsh, Baba, Anwar, Rustam, Faisal, Siraj and Mohammad. They all belong to Jiwani town.—Correspondent
