KARACHI: Slow left-armer Imran Chandio bowled Larkana into a winning position with a six-wicket haul against Fata on the second day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade-II cricket tournament fixture at the Niaz Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday.

After taking a 58-run lead on the first innings, Larkana dismissed Fata for 172 in the second innings thanks to Imran’s superb bowling which fetched him excellent figures of six for 47. Zahid Mahmood provided good support with two for 30 with his leg-spinners.

Needing 115, Larkana reached stumps on the penultimate day at 18-0.

Fata’s main run-getters in the second innings were Asif Ali (69) and Asif Afridi (53).

Earlier, Zahid chipped in with a useful 22 not out as Larkana added 33 to their overnight tally of 124-7.

Left-arm paceman Asif Afridi claimed one more wicket to finish with five for 28.

Dera Murad Jamali are the third side in the regional non first-class event.
