Sindh Festival

Published February 28, 2014

THE celebration of festivals was a good step. It was for the first time that a cultural festival was celebrated in Sindh. But the way it was celebrated I can’t say that it was a cultural festival.

A lot of events could have been included by having exhibitions of handicraft, indigenous sports, horse and cattle shows just like being done in Punjab.

We can’t compare the Sindh Festival with Punjab’s. One could see the spirit and patriotism at the Punjab Youth Festival. Punjab also made many world records by showing the spirit of the people, while the Sindh Festival was nothing but marked with political speeches. One cannot say it was a cultural show. It was only for the upper class, as it was beyond the reach of the common man.
