Afghan asylum seekers have been occupying a Catholic church in central Brussels to urge authorities to allow them to stay in Belgium. The group of mainly Muslim families, whose first request to stay in the country was rejected, has been eating, sleeping and teaching their children in the church for more than three months. The priest of the church said he opened the doors to the refugees because he disagreed with Belgium's current asylum policy. — Photos and text by Reuters.

This is BEAUTIFUL. A BIG thank you to the catholic church for giving these Afghans shelter on humanitarian ground. We as muslims need to learn tolerance towards other religions as well. This is a perfect example. I can't express how happy I am to read this news.

I have known many Muslims refugees from Bosnia were who were helped by church groups in settling in USA in 90s. I was told they were not asked to convert to Christianity for that. My hat is off for these selfless people who want to serve the humanity without any material reward for it.
