KARACHI, Dec 15: A leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and former MPA, Mohammed Husain, was released on Saturday evening after he was granted bail in all the cases against him.

The Muttahida leader was arrested in September 1999, and he was facing charges in as many as 35 criminal cases.

PLEA BARGAIN: An accountability court, headed by Judge Aziz Memon, ordered the release of an accused after he surrendered a 15-acre plot in Korangi he had acquired through illegal means.

Accused Mohammed Ibrahim also surrendered Rs750,000 he had deposited for the conversion of the plot into a commercial one.

Challan submitted: Police submitted challan against Qasim Ali and another co- accused of the Sipah-i-Mohammed in a murder case before Justice Shabbir Ahmed of the High Court of Sindh,

who is also administrative judge of the anti- terrorism courts at Karachi, on Saturday, adds PPI.
