KARACHI, Dec 15: The City Fire Brigade Department has been strengthened with the addition of a small rescue van.

The Rs1.2 million worth rescue van has a rescue cutter, first aid facility, wireless and public address systems and a capacity to store 100 gallons water.

This rescue van can be immediately dispatched to the spot on receipt of a fire call and can begin work till bigger vehicles arrive there.

The addition of a small van in fire brigade department is the first experiment. It could pass through narrow lanes and streets without any problem. If the experiment proves successful, more such vans would be procured.—APP
