ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Gen Rashad Mahmood held meetings Monday with Saudi Crown Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz during which issues related to defence cooperation and regional security were discussed, DawnNews reported.

According to sources, the Army chief and the Saudi Crown Prince discussed the security situation in the region during their meeting.

Meanwhile, Gen Mahmood and Abdul Aziz discussed Saudi-Pak defence in their meeting and agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Moreover, it was also agreed in the meeting that the two countries would share counter-terrorism intelligence whereas a memorandum of understanding (MoU) would be signed in the field of security cooperation.

Abdul Aziz is on a three-day visit to Pakistan on the first leg of his four-nation Asia tour. He is also scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
