KARACHI, June 27: Two persons, including a young boy, were killed in separate accidents, while a girl died after she fell into an open manhole on Friday.

Adnan Shah, 9, died when a minibus ran over him in Baldia Town. Police said Ahsan was standing near the bus terminus in Abidabad when a wagon of route W-24 hit him. He was taken to the Civil Hospital where he died while being provided treatment.

Police claimed to have arrested the driver, Zahidur Rehman, and impounded the vehicle.

A young man died and five others were injured when the passenger coach (PE-3203) they were travelling in over turned on the main road near the Paracha Chowk in Shershah. The deceased were identified as Abdul Salam, 22.

The injured were shifted to a nearby private hospital from where some were referred to the Civil Hospital.

SHOT DEAD: A young man was shot dead in Pak Colony on Friday.

Police said Waris, 22, was shot dead by unknown persons in Jahanabad area of Pak Colony. The victim reportedly belonged to the notorious Haji Laloo group.

His body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for autopsy.

Police said the deceased was wanted in several cases.

In another incident, a middle-aged man was shot dead in New Karachi.

Police said Haji Abdul Majeed, 40, had recently returned from Saudi Arabia and was living in sector 5-D of New Karachi, where he had some monetary dispute with an agent Imran.

Police said on Friday, Imran came to Majeed’s residence and opened fire on him. The suspect later fled.

Majeed was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

KIDNAPPING BID: Police arrested three persons and recovered a kidnapped person from their possession from North Karachi.

Police said when Adnan Ibrahim came to meet his relatives in sector 16/KB, he was abducted by unknown persons travelling in a yellow cab (PH-0750).

As they were fleeing, Adnan raised an alarm. A police party stopped the cab and recovered Adnan Ibrahim. Police also arrested Aslam, Naeem and Kamran from the spot.

BUS TORCHED: A bus was set on fire by unknown miscreants in Kharadar.

Police said unknown persons set on fire a bus of route 7-C in Kharadar Chowk after an exchange of hot words with the bus conductor.
