KARACHI: At least three people were injured, including a policeman, during three separate hand-grenade attacks in Karachi on Friday, DawnNews reported.

A hand-grenade attack was foiled on its own near the city’s Sohrab Goth area. Two suspected miscreants attacked a police mobile van with a hand-grenade which exploded inside their own vehicle, leaving them injured.

The suspects were taken into custody and shifted to a hospital.

According to a police source, one policeman was also injured in the attack whereas the two injured suspects were being investigated.

Separately, unidentified motorcyclists lobbed a hand-grenade on the vehicle of a non-governmental organisation’s (NGO) general secretary Noor Muhammad in the city’s Metroville area.

The car was severely damaged, however, no loss of life was reported in the incident.

Meanwhile, a hand-grenade exploded in the hands of a policeman in Karachi’s Sohrab Goth area during inspection of weapons recovered sometime ago.

Since past few days Karachi witnessed a series of cracker and hand grenade attacks mostly targeting the security forces.
