CHARSADDA/SWABI: Five members of a family were killed and one was injured over a land dispute in the jurisdiction of Umarzai police station here on Sunday.

Police said that two brothers, Alaf Khan and Sahib Shah had a verbal brawl over a piece of land in Tarangzai School Korona area, after which their children took arms and opened fire, which resulted into the death of Alaf khan and his two sons, Ali and Mustafa, Sahib Shah and his son, Wajid Ali.

Samina, daughter of Alaf Khan, also received injuries. She was taken to DHQ hospital where doctors referred her to Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar in precarious condition.

Shah, named Alaf Khan and his sons, Javed, Naveed, Shabir and Mustaffa Kamal in the cross FIR.

The Umarzai police started investigation into the incident.

In Swabi, unidentified motorcyclists shot and seriously injured a traffic constable in main bazaar here on Sunday, police said.

Constable Nawaz Ali, who belongs to Naranji village, was on duty near Link Road Market on Swab-Mardan road, when he was fired upon.

Police said that two motorcyclists slowed down their bike near the victim and one of them opened indiscriminate fire on the policeman, injuring him seriously. The attackers escaped the area.

After first aid, he was shifted to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar in serious condition.

Officials said that suspected militants were behind the attack. The city police registered case against unknown militants.
