KARACHI, June 22: A young man committed suicide after killing his wife in Site on Sunday.

Police said that Mohammad Jamshed, 28, a factory worker shot his wife, Farzana, dead. Later, he committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest at their residence in Pathan Colony in Site.

The couple had been fighting over some domestic issue, police said adding that their one-year-old daughter was also present in the house, when the incident took place. Police shifted the bodies to the Civil Hospital Karachi for post-mortem examination.

However, police are investigating the case to ascertain the cause of such fatal actions on part of the deceased, said a duty officer at the Site police station.

In another incident, a young housewife committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her house in Ibrahim Hydri. Amber, wife of Ishaq, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her house. Police said that the woman, mother of two kids, was suffering from mental illness. Her body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy, police added.
