THE Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (Ogra) proposes a new list of prices for petroleum products to the ministry of petroleum and natural resources towards the end of every month, looking at which the latter decides revised prices for the coming month.
The proposed fuel prices by Ogra are based on the current position in the international market. Premium is being sold at Rs112.76 a litre, HSD at Rs116.75 a litre, LSD at Rs101.24 a litre, SKO at Rs108 a litre, and gasoline and HOBC at Rs140.23 a litre.
Petroleum prices cause a major impact on Pakistan’s economy which directly affects the public.
Owing to increase in the prices of petroleum products the prices of other goods also increase and it becomes difficult for people to afford goods on new prices every month.
The government should give subsidy on oil and gas prices to lighten the burden of the common man.
